Put the booking page on your phone's home screen

What it is

If you book with the same shop often, you can add its booking page to your phone's home screen. It then opens like an app, with the shop's name and icon, so you do not have to find the link again. It is the same booking page, just easier to reach. You do not download anything from an app store.

Every shop's page is its own: if you install two shops, each one opens only its own booking page.

Before you start

  1. A phone browser that supports adding web pages to the home screen.
  2. A booking made on the shop's page. The page offers installing after you confirm a booking, never in the middle of booking.

Steps

  1. Book an appointment as usual and reach the You're booked page.
  2. Look for a box that says Install (shop name) on your home screen for faster booking.
  3. On Android and other browsers that offer it: press Install and follow the browser's prompt.
  4. On iPhone or iPad: the box shows On iPhone or iPad, use Share → Add to Home Screen to install this booking page. Tap the Share button in your browser, then Add to Home Screen.
  5. If you do not want it now, press Not now. The box will not appear again for that shop in that browser.

If you do not see the box, your browser may offer the same thing in its own menu. The wording differs by phone and browser.

What happens next

An icon with the shop's name appears on your home screen. Opening it takes you to that shop's booking page.

What you get is quick access. What you do not get: it does not work without an internet connection, because times and openings are always loaded live so you never see times that may be gone. Offline, it says You are offline. Reconnect to see available times. and you cannot confirm a booking. It does not replace your manage link or your confirmation messages.

Common mistakes

  • Looking for the option before booking. The page offers it only after you confirm a booking.
  • Pressing "Not now" and wanting it back. Use your browser's own add-to-home-screen option instead.
  • Expecting to see times offline. Reconnect first.
  • Expecting one app for several shops. Each shop installs separately.
