Switch the admin between English and Spanish

What it is

The admin, meaning the screens you and your staff use every day, is available in English and in Spanish. Menus, page titles, buttons, empty-screen messages, form labels and the messages the app shows you all follow the chosen language. The sign-in screens and the profile menu follow it too.

By default Zelun reads the language of your browser. If it is Spanish, you get Spanish. If it is English, you get English. If it is anything else, you get English. You can also pin a language yourself with the two short language buttons, grouped as Language.

Dates, weekday names and money amounts follow the chosen language as well, in your company's currency.

Before you start

You only need to be signed in. The language you choose is remembered on the browser you are using, not on your account.

Steps

Pin a language

  1. Find the Language control with two small buttons, one for English and one for Spanish. It sits in the side menu on a computer and in the top bar on a phone.
  2. Press the first button for English or the second for Spanish. Each is labeled with a short two-letter code. The button for the active language is highlighted.
  3. The screen reloads in that language and stays that way on later visits in this browser.

Go back to following your browser

The language buttons only pin a choice. There is no button to clear it. The pin stays until the browser's saved site data (cookies) is cleared, and then Zelun returns to following your browser's language.

What your clients see

Nothing changes for them. This setting only changes the screens you and your team use. Your booking page and the messages your clients receive do not follow it.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting everything you typed to be translated. Names you wrote yourself, such as your company, branch, services, staff, client names and notes, always appear exactly as you saved them.
  • Expecting error messages to be translated. When something fails, the heading and the retry button follow your language, but the code or message the system returns appears as it was returned.
  • Expecting the choice to follow you. It is saved per browser. On another computer, another browser, or after clearing cookies, the choice is gone and your browser's language is used.
  • Expecting it to set the language for your team. Each person picks on their own browser. It does not set a default for the company.
  • Changing the language to change money amounts. Amounts always stay in your company's currency. Only the way they are written changes. For example, a Mexican peso amount is written with a mark in English and without it in Spanish.
