Create your account, start the free trial and sign in
What it is
Any business owner can create a Zelun account on their own, without waiting for an invitation. You fill in a short form, accept the Terms of Service and the Privacy Notice, create your login, and Zelun sets up your company for you. It starts with one free trial of 30 days, and you do not need to enter a credit card.
During the trial you can use the core of the product the same way a paying shop does: the appointment book, availability rules, the public booking page, access and policies, expenses and pay-run reports. When the trial ends, you choose a paid plan to keep making changes. If you do not, you can still open and read everything you entered, and nothing is deleted, but creating or editing things is paused until you subscribe.
Your account belongs only to your company. You can only see and change your own company's information.
Before you start
- An email address you can open right now. You will be asked to verify it.
- Your business name. It becomes the name of your company in Zelun.
- The country your business is in. Zelun sets your currency from it: a business in Mexico works in Mexican pesos (MXN), every other country in United States dollars (USD). CFDI invoicing is only available for a business in Mexico.
- Five minutes to read the Terms of Service and the Privacy Notice. You must accept both to continue.
Steps
Create your account
- Open the sign-up page. If you are on the sign-in screen, press Start a free trial.
- Type your Business name.
- Choose your Country. Mexico, the United States and Canada are at the top of the list, and every other country follows. The line under it shows the Currency that goes with it. You do not choose the currency separately. If online client payments are not offered in your country yet, the form tells you so: you can still take bookings and record cash and card payments.
- Press Continue. The next step asks What does your business do? Pick Salon or spa, Clinic or practice, Tutor or coach or Something else. Each card lists examples and the Starter services Zelun will create for you, and the line under the cards says which words you and your clients will see: a clinic sees Patient, Practitioner and Appointment type, a tutor Student, Tutor and Session type. You can rename or delete every starter service later. You are never asked this again at sign-up, and only the owner can change it afterwards. Press Continue to plan.
- Under Plan, keep the Solo plan, which shows its monthly price after the trial. Some shops are also offered a second option, Solo free — payments-funded experiment. It only appears for some accounts, and it requires one bookable person, connected payments, and deposits or checkout payments turned on.
- On the last step, tick I accept the Terms of Service and I accept the Privacy Notice. You can open each document from its link. Until both boxes are ticked, Continue stays disabled.
- Press Continue.
- On the next screen, enter your email and a password, then follow the instructions to verify your email.
- If the page says Verify your email, then refresh this page., open the message we sent, confirm your address, and refresh the page.
- Wait while Setting up your company… appears. Zelun creates your company, a first branch, and your own staff entry, and then opens the appointment book.
If something goes wrong, you see Could not create your company. Try signing in again. Sign in with the email you just used and Zelun tries again. It never creates a second company for the same owner.
If the Terms of Service or the Privacy Notice are updated later, you are asked to read and accept the new versions before you keep working.
Change your business type later
- Open My business and find the Business type card. Everyone can read it, and only the owner sees a Change button.
- Press Change, pick the new type and read the box called What happens: the words switch everywhere at once, and your services, clients, prices and settings stay exactly as they are.
- Press Switch and review settings. Zelun then shows the suggested settings for that type one at a time, for example hiding prices on the booking page. Nothing is turned on unless you choose Turn on; Keep as it is leaves it alone.
Sign in later
- Open the sign-in page and enter your email and password.
- You land in the appointment book.
Sign out
- Open your profile menu in the top corner of the screen, next to your picture.
- Choose the sign-out option. You return to the sign-in page, and the last branch you were working in is not remembered for the next person who uses that browser.
What to do first
Once you are in, a Getting started card guides you through adding a service, adding staff and setting your branch hours. The article on the onboarding checklist explains it.
What your clients see
Nothing yet. Signing up and the trial are private to you. Your clients only see your booking page once you have set it up, and it works the same during and after the trial.
If your plan lapses after the trial, you cannot change your information until you subscribe, so clients may find that new changes you wanted are not reflected. Everything you already set up remains saved.
Common mistakes
- Choosing the wrong business type. It sets the words and the starter services. If you picked the wrong card, the owner can change it from My business; the services Zelun already created stay, and you can delete them.
- Choosing the wrong country. It decides your currency, how phone numbers without a country code are read, and whether CFDI invoicing and online client payments are offered. Check it before you continue.
- Forgetting to tick both boxes. Continue stays disabled until you accept both the Terms of Service and the Privacy Notice.
- Not verifying the email. The company is not created until you verify your email and refresh the page.
- Trying to sign up again after an error. Sign in instead. Your account may already exist and Zelun finishes the setup.
- Expecting a card to be needed for the trial. It is not. You only need a paid plan after the 30 days if you want to keep editing.
- Expecting to manage other companies. An owner account only works with its own company. Access to other companies is reserved for the Zelun team, who join by invitation only.
- Using someone else's sign-in. If your account has no company and is not part of the Zelun team, you see a message saying you do not have admin access.
