What happens when your Zelun plan ends, and how to reactivate it

What it is

If your card subscription keeps failing until the payment provider gives up, your Zelun plan ends. This is different from a payment that is only late: while a payment is late your account keeps working in full, as the article on billing payment problems explains. This article is about what comes after, once the subscription has actually ended.

When the plan ends, Zelun does not delete anything and does not strand your clients. It works in two stages:

  • From the day the plan ends, you and your team can still open and read everything, and you can still export your data, but changes are paused. Creating or editing appointments, clients, services, staff and settings is refused until you reactivate.
  • Seven days later, new online bookings pause. Your booking page stops taking new appointments and asks clients to contact you directly.

Appointments that were already booked are never touched, at either stage. Reactivating your plan restores everything at once.

Before you start

  1. A working card. Reactivating means subscribing again from the Billing section of your company page.
  2. Access to billing. Only people allowed to manage billing for the company can start checkout. See the article on plans and billing.
  3. The date in the banner. It tells you the day new online bookings pause, so you know how long you have before clients notice.

Steps

When your plan ends

  1. A banner at the top of every screen says Your plan has ended. You can still see everything and export your data, but changes are paused. New online bookings pause on a date. It has a Reactivate my plan link.
  2. You also get a notice in the bell labelled Notifications and by email, in your company's language. It states the date new online bookings pause. These notices never use messaging credits.
  3. If you or someone on your team tries to save a change, a message titled Your plan has ended explains that changes are paused until you reactivate, with the same date. Press Close to dismiss it. The staff mobile app shows the same banner.

Reactivate

  1. Press Reactivate my plan in the banner. It opens the Billing section.
  2. Subscribe as described in the article on plans and billing.
  3. As soon as the subscription is active again, changes work again, online booking reopens if it was paused, and you get a notice that you are back.

If you need more time

If you are in the middle of sorting out the payment and need a few more days before online booking pauses, contact Zelun support. The Zelun team can move the pause date for a short, limited time.

What your clients see

  • During the first seven days, nothing changes for your clients. They can book online as usual.
  • After seven days, your booking page shows Online booking is temporarily unavailable and says your business is not taking new online bookings right now, with your phone number and address so they can contact you. It never mentions billing or your plan.
  • Appointments already booked carry on. Clients still get their confirmations and reminders, and they can still cancel, or move to a time that is open, from their own booking link.

Common mistakes

  • Mixing this up with a late payment. A late payment keeps full access. Changes pause only once the subscription has actually ended.
  • Waiting for the booking pause before acting. Your team cannot make changes from the first day, including new appointments at the desk. Reactivate as soon as you see the banner.
  • Worrying that data is lost. Nothing is deleted. Everything stays readable, export keeps working, and reactivating restores it all at once.
  • Expecting existing clients to be turned away. Only new online bookings pause. Booked appointments, their reminders and the clients' own cancel and move options keep working.
  • Expecting this for every way of paying. It applies to subscriptions paid by card.
