Choose what happens to your deposit, and manage your card and credit

What it is

If you paid a deposit, your personal booking link shows where it stands and, when part of it is yours to take back, lets you choose what to do with it. The same page shows the card you left on file, if the business asks for one, and any credit you hold with them.

Before you start

  1. Your personal booking link from your confirmation. Whoever has it can see this page, so keep it to yourself.
  2. For a refund by bank transfer, nothing more. The refund goes back to the way you paid.

Steps

Choose what to do with your deposit

  1. Open your link. Under Your deposit you read how much is yours to take back and the date to choose by.
  2. Press Refund to get the money back the way you paid. For a bank transfer, it can take about five business days.
  3. Or press Keep as credit. Some businesses add a bonus, which the button names, and tell you if the bonus expires. Your own money never expires.
  4. If you paid at a convenience store, a refund to your payment is not possible. You can keep it as credit or take it in cash at the desk.

Pay a fee that could not be charged

  1. If a cancellation, late change or no-show fee could not be charged to your card, the page shows A fee is owed for this visit and the amount.
  2. Enter your card and press Pay. When it goes through, the page says your fee is paid.

Move a visit close to its start

  1. Pick a new time and press Save new time.
  2. If moving it this late costs a fee, the page tells you the amount first. Press Move it and pay to continue, or Keep my current time to leave things as they are.

Remove your card

  1. Under Your card on file you see the card's brand and last four digits.
  2. Press Remove this card and confirm. If a visit or a fee still depends on it, the page tells you it cannot be removed yet.

See your credit

  1. Under Your account credit you see your balance, how much of it is bonus and how much of that expires, and your recent changes.

What happens next

A refund takes a few days to reach you. Credit is available at your next visit and is used automatically at checkout. If you do nothing before the date, your deposit is returned to you automatically. If you removed your card, the business may ask for one again the next time you book.

Common mistakes

  • Missing the date. After it, your deposit is returned for you without the bonus.
  • Looking for the deposit page after cancelling. The link still opens for a cancelled visit that has a deposit or a fee to settle.
  • Expecting the business to charge any amount. A card on file is used only for a cancellation, late change or no-show fee, as you agreed when you booked.
  • Using another booking's link. Each booking has its own page.
